Chocolate Porridge with Raspberries & Almonds
Indulge yourself in the mornings with this chocolate porridge
Who says breakfast can’t be a treat, with this chocolate porridge you’ll be starting your day the right way! Transform your mornings with this bowl of creamy, chocolatey deliciousness in just a few simple steps. Start by soaking your oats with sultanas the night before. The next morning, simmer the overnight oats with cocoa powder and milk until you have the perfect consistency. Top with your favourite fruit and enjoy!
A versatile recipe you can make your own
It’s an adaptable recipe and the variations are endless:
- Use dates or raisins instead of sultanas.
- Stir through frozen fruit such as mixed berries or cherries.
- Choose any milk that works for you.
- Top with any fresh fruit such as raspberries, strawberries or banana -a dollop of nut butter would be tasty with the banana!
- With a little more prep you can make a fruit compote to top your oats.
- For some texture nuts are great. Toasted nuts add another dimension to the flavours. Flaked almonds, crushed hazelnuts, toasted desiccated coconut – any of these would be amazing.
So many ideas to get you going to make your mornings just that little bit easier!
No processed sugar just natural sweetness
This recipe doesn’t use any processed sugar, it’s simply sweetened with the fruit you use, particularly the sultanas. By soaking the sultanas overnight they become plump and release their natural sugars into the oats.
