Easy Strawberry Chia Jam

Easy Strawberry Chia Jam

Everyone will love this Strawberry Chia Jam

I made this Strawberry Chia Jam for the first time and it turned out really well. It’s made with just four ingredients which are chia seeds, frozen strawberries, maple syrup and a little vanilla extract. The process couldn’t be simpler too. You start by heating the strawberries over a gentle heat with the maple syrup and vanilla extract. You do this for around ten minutes or so, until the strawberries start to break up easily with a fork. Then you stir through the chia seeds and cook for a little longer then set aside to cool. This is where the chia works its magic and thickens the mixture into a jam-like consistency.

Mix it up and try other fruits

You can of course you another fruit, raspberries would work really well. I would like to experiment with using frozen mango or mixed berries next time. The Chia Jam is a lot less sweet than normal jam, which I like, but if you’d prefer a sweeter taste you can just add some more maple syrup.

I’ve been stirring my chia jam through yoghurt with toasted pecans crumbled over the top. It’s also tasty on porridge or on toast, I had peanut butter and Chia Jam on toast this morning which was delicious. If you make smoothies, it works well whizzed up with your other ingredients and makes for a slightly thicker smoothie. I’d be quite curious to try in in baking too, using the Chia Jam in a Victoria Sponge for example. Or it would be delicious in a scone!

The jam can be stored in your fridge in a sealed container for around a week. If you’ve made chia jam before or try this recipe out, I’d love to hear your thoughts and how you use yours!
