Chocolate Dipped Bananas
Delicious and fun chocolate dipped bananas
These chocolate dipped bananas have been rolled in Primrose’s Kitchen’s delicious granolas. This is a fun and easy recipe to make with children – they’ll enjoy dipping the bananas into the melted chocolate and rolling them around in the granola. Then of course enjoy eating them even more!
Using Primrose’s Kitchen natural granolas
The granolas I’ve used are the Turmeric & Banana and the Cashew & Orange mix, both of which marry well with the dark chocolate and banana flavours. I particularly like the turmeric flavour of the banana granola, you’ve got to try it! They both have different consistencies too, not only giving varied flavours but textures as well. The Turmeric & Banana granola is crunchier because it’s been made with oats, whereas the Cashew & Orange granola has a softer crunch to it, being free of oats and using cashews.

Get creative in the kitchen with the kids!
Making these chocolate bananas will be a fun Summer holiday activity with the little ones. They can get creative with it too by adding other toppings such as their favourite nuts chopped up, mixed seeds, desiccated coconut or some dried fruit like freeze-dried strawberries and raspberries. Some crystallised ginger or candied orange would be delicious too, but perhaps just for the more mature palette!
The possibilities are endless…
It doesn’t stop there either – you could try dipping them in yoghurt instead or chocolate or use both! Maybe use the chocolate to drizzle over the them. Then there’s peanut butter (who doesn’t love a nut butter…). Try making a sauce to decorate the bananas with. You can find my easy peasy peanut drizzle in this recipe here: Chocolate Brownies with a Peanut Sauce
Make a batch of these and take them along to your next picnic, walk, park visit or enjoy at home.
Chocolate Dipped Bananas
Ingredients
- 5 Bananas
- 250g Dark Chocolate
- 100g Turmeric & Banana Granola
- 100g Cashew & Orange Granola
- 10 Lolly Sticks
Instructions
- For the adults: Start by melting your chocolate. Break the chocolate into pieces and place into a heatproof bowl. Place your bowl over a saucepan of lightly simmering water. You only need an inch of water or so at the bottom of the saucepan. Stir the chocolate continuously until the lumps have all melted ensuring none of the water is splashed into the bowl.
- Prep your dipping station – (adults) cut your bananas in half, (kids) pour your granola onto separate plates and carefully insert the lolly sticks into the bananas.
- Carefully dip the bananas into the melted chocolate holding the lolly stick, then roll in the granola. Place each dipped banana onto a lined baking tray and place in the freezer for an hour for the chocolate to harden up. Enjoy!
